Does the Sony XB 12 have good sound with it being so small and portable?
let’s find out
When it comes to built quality, I liked the XB12. It is incredibly portable due to its small size and can handle some heat durability wise. If you accidentally drop, it has no worries because this thing is meant to be sturdy.
We have a metal grill and wrap it around the speaker. There is a smooth rubbery plastic material at the bottom of the speaker. Sony included a small rubber piece that helps the speaker’s stay in place; it’s always nice when companies add extra small features like this one.
I am also a fan of the overall design of the Sony SRS XB 12; it’s modern and sleek, which allows the speaker to look good almost anywhere. There is a nice carrying strap on the side. It allows you to connect the XB 12 to a backpack.
If you’re hiking or doing something active, the portability also makes a speaker great to travel with; you can fit it pretty much anywhere without it taking up too much space. This figure also comes in six different colors, including red-black, blue grey-green, and violet.
This speaker is also ip67 certified, which means it is fully waterproof and dustproof. This is exceptionally nice to have because many other portable speakers out there aren’t entirely waterproof.
If you look to the side of the speaker, you will notice the buttons. The buttons are simple to use and easy to press with a satisfying click Enos. We have the power and Bluetooth button, volume buttons, the pause-play, and answer or in a phone call button and the add button, which allows you to pair another XB 12.

It allows play at the same time, giving you something like a surround sound effect; unfortunately, you can’t connect with more than two speakers at once, which is a bummer.
Sony claims that the battery life of this speaker is 16 hours if you’re playing Music at half volume. But expect less than that because you will probably be listening to the XB 12 at about 80% or a higher amount. Most of the time, the speaker can get pretty loud for its size, but it isn’t going to be anything that stands out.
If you look on the side of the speaker, there is a rubber flap that covers the microUSB port alongside an audio jack in case you want to use a wired connection. In terms of Bluetooth, the pairing process is just as easy as any other speaker. The XB 12 has Bluetooth 4.2, which should work fine.
With the average consumer, I was able to get a pretty good distance away before the Music started to cut out.
Now let’s get to the part we have all been waiting for the sound quality. Allow me to begin by telling you this sound is fantastic. I was also surprised how well it did sound for how small the speaker is. The volume gets pretty loud, but it isn’t anything crazy.
Now, if you were to get a second X B 12 and pair them together, it will be plenty loud for the average consumer.
I was surprised that this thing had a pretty good amount of bass for its size as well; the audio is pretty clear, but it isn’t quite as crisp with the high frequencies as I would have liked it to be overall.
I was pleased with the sound that the xB 12 has to offer as I said earlier the Music is an Incred, but it will be just fine for the average consumer.
Wrapping up the review is the sony XP 12 has good sound with it being so small and portable I would say yes.
This speaker has good sound for its size, and it always helps when a speaker is as portable as this one. I don’t know if you can get much more for four thousand rupee. I believe the speaker would satisfy anyone looking for an affordable portable speaker.
